I just read Nikki's store from her site and indeed Sandy you did everything you can to help her and you both are such insperation for us since we have not put into a real test. It is quite unusual for FHC progress as fast as Nikki's case and the only thing we can think is that perhaps this relieves her from the pain and be in heaven. My daughter was diagosed Jan. 2007 which was such a shock and surpise since before then she never spent a day in hospital. We are in seattle and local doctor was hasitate to even operate her immediately, asking us to try chemo first. From what we read, operation is the best way to deal with this type. We luckly found a wonderful surgeon in UCSF who operated on her for 10 hours in March. We came back here, she had a great oncologiest taking care of her on regular base. She is well today and went back to school full time and doing normal teen stuff. Because she seems so normal now, I sometimes forgot and could not help to use big voice to ask her to tidy up her room if it is so messed up or harry up if she is late for school. Afterwards, I felt bad and regret. Should I not apply any normal parenting decipline in this case? After reading what Nikki and Amy going through, those kids are so braving and amazing to deal this unthinkable condition. Realized that for them just being there to do things is a precious, amazing moment and victory. I am not half as strong as that. ina
