My sister contacted Dr. Choti via email on July 23, 2008 and we have yet to hear back from him. Additionally, a friend of mine contacted Dr. Choti's office via telephone and the person, I presume a secretary of some sort wanted to talk with me instead of my friend. I then called the office and the individual asked for some details about what was going on. I gave her the short rundown of Nikki being diagnosed, having the liver resection and the list of problems and hospitalizations since. Her response was well Dr. Choti is a surgeon and I don't know what you want him to do, sure he did a paper on FHC but........if you wanted a consult, it would be with a medical oncologist. I said thank you anyway and ended the call.
I am not trying to discourage anyone from contacting him, but since my daughter is literally blocks from Johns Hopkins, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, I thought he would be interested. Dr. Choti may still be, but to get past this person I spoke to may be a challenge.
