I thought I would never have to write this post. Yes, my husband passed away on June 17th from FHC. Many have been following our story and it was a long one. In the last few months we found out he had a new reoccurrence in the pelvic region. It was a very rapidly growing tumor compared to the others. He got a round of radiation which did slow down its growth and gave us time to get back to Brazil where he is from. He had a few good weeks that he was able to visit with almost every member of his large wonderful family, thank God. I'll remember every day of it. He was admitted to a hospital due to vomiting and had every hope that he was just going to be admitted to get stronger with IV fluids and get out in a week or so. Each day he got weaker and spoke with us less. He eventually developed internal hemorrhages and the last three days of his life he spent sleeping peacefully. I spent every day and night with him. I feel somewhat at peace now because he's not suffering anymore, but it will take a long time for me to accept that cancer stole my husband from me one week before our 3rd wedding anniversary. I too will continue to come to this site and try to find more answers for FHC. In the meantime I plan on roaming around Brazil visiting friends and family and eventually continue with medical school. Thank you everyone for all your support. Keep up the fight and live every single minute as if it were your last- whether or not you have cancer.
