Hi Melissa,
I am sorry to hear about your son. How old is he, and where do you live?
I was diagnosed with FHC 7 1/2 years ago and have had 2 operations since then.
I have had no other treatment and live a relatively normal life, although I know some others are not so fortunate.
I live in England and my doctors believe that at the moment, surgery is still the only option - and that has worked for me twice.
I think I may be the oldest person on here who has been diagnosed, but i'm not sure- I am 39 and still going strong.
I can imagine how you are feeling at the minute, but please keep coming on this site as the people on here give so much support to this disease that we know so little about.
Please keep us posted on how your son is doing, we will all be thinking of him.
