Hello to anyone reading this board. My name is Casey and I recently had liver resection surgery (left lobe) to remove a "mass" thought to be focal nodular hyperplasia. The pathology report came back a week post op showing the mass was fibrolamellar hepatacellular carcinoma. Since then, I've been struggling to find information about this type of cancer. Although I had my surgery in Seattle, I live in Montana where oncologists are limited. The oncologist in my town has never heard of this cancer before and was unable to give my any information about possible reoccurance. My surgeon (in Seattle) says he saw no other lesions on my liver and that the tumor was not invasive. It was categorized as T1. He thinks I'm currently cancer free and just need to get MRIs every 3-4 months to monitor. At this point I have mixed feelings. I am lucky to have had it removed at an early stage but I'm scared it may come back. It's frustrating because I don't know if it'll come back and my family/friends are all convinced I'm cured for good. I hope they're all right but it doesn't ease the stress and worry and frustration I have with not knowing. Thank you for reading my post. I look forward to hearing from anyone and everyone dealing with this disease. Casey
