Hi,got the results of my CT scan back yesterday.Its all clear,the report says the abdomen is clear and the bile leak has stopped.I go back and see the surgeon next week and hopefully he will tell me why my abdomen is still swollen and what is causing the pain,but obviously im more than happy with the ct results.All my doctors have told me to stay off the internet in case i scare myself but as they dont seem willing to tell me much i have to find out for myself.
I have never really been on medication i was fairly healthy for the first 35 years of my life. I spent 7 weeks in hospital once for preterm labour and i was pumped full of everything thing then,i did wonder if that had any relation to this but i have googled the meds i was on and i cant find any relation between them and this.One med was withdrawn for use in preterm labour but is still prescribed for other things.
I see an upper GI oncologist and a liver specialist but i dont know if either of them have much experience with this. I will have CT scans every 3 months for the next 5 years apart from that no other treatment has been mentioned.Is this the norm?
Im still getting my head around this but im sure i will be back on here with questions.
