Sorry to hear that..I hope i can help.. First of all biopsy is necessary..Normaly in so young people it must be fibrolamellar..
Tumors in liver can only be fought by chemoembolization, radioembolization and nexavar apart from resection and transplantation. yttrium is a drug that through a vein goes to the liver and shrunks the tumor. Chemoembolization is a same kind of chemotherapy.Through the portal vein goes a liquid[lipiodole] to the liver[in one of the two lobes] and burns one lobe, that means it kills the lobe with the tumor inside
according to my doctors the only way to survive with a big tumor is transplantation, what i did.ialso did chemoembolization,my lobe was brown instead of red. i dont know the situation of your daughter but the only way is transplantation if she can handle it. a small tip:it is hard to be in a list, but in the usa there are some hospitals which collect b' livers ,that means livers in a not good situation,so if you cannot enter the list look for it. one other solution is to take the half liver of her mother or her father[depends on the blood type].this will allow to both parent and patient to survive.we all know that the liver reproduces very fast and the danger for the parent is very low[3 % i think].
Ask the doctors if they can clean the area around the liver and if yes look for a liver. If it is possible increase the dose of nexavar.if she can bear the side effects,4 pills a day is full dosage, try 3 pills.
for further questions let me know, sorry for mt mistakes but i am from greece.. IF IT IS POSSIBLE GET TRANSPLANTED!! god be with you..
