Hernias?

Hi,
Has anyone had a hernia caused by any of their ops?
I found a large lump last night on the left side of my abdomen by my stomach, so phoned my specialist nurse this morning who told me to go to my GP. They have diagnosed it as a hernia due to the muscles in my abdomen being so weak. I will have to go to see my consultant in Cambridge next week so that they can confirm this and decide what should be done.
It explains a few things that have been happening lately, such as pain after eating, acid reflux, chest pains.
I wondered if anyone else has had this because of their scar and how it was treated.
Does this mean no more gym?
I have loads of questions that cant be answered till I see my consultant next week.
